ZakatHisab.com (“we”, “us”) is a free calculator website. This policy explains what data is and is not processed when you use it.
1. Your financial figures never leave your browser
Every amount you type into a calculator (cash, gold weight, stock value, herd size and so on) is processed by JavaScript running on your own device. Nothing you enter is sent to our servers or to any third party. When you close or reload the page, the figures are gone.
2. Data stored on your device
To make the tools convenient we store a few small items in your browser’s local storage, on your device only:
- the currency you chose, if you changed it (
zakat_cur_override); - the Hawl start date you saved per calculator (
zakat_hawl_v1).
We cannot read this storage; it is not transmitted anywhere. You can clear it at any time from your browser settings or with the “Clear” button next to the Hawl date.
3. Currency detection
On first visit a calculator may ask a geolocation service (ipwho.is) which country your IP address belongs to, solely to pre-select a currency. This sends your IP address to that service; no other information is sent, and the result is not stored by us. The language never changes and you are never redirected. You can override the currency at any time.
4. Server and CDN logs
Our hosting provider (Rocket.net, with Cloudflare as content delivery network) keeps standard access logs (IP address, requested URL, browser type, time) for security and performance. These are held under their policies and are not used by us to identify visitors.
5. Third-party resources
Pages load fonts from Google Fonts and, only when you click “Download PDF”, two open-source libraries from the cdnjs content delivery network. Those providers may log the request. The WhatsApp share button opens WhatsApp with a text you can edit before sending; we do not see it.
6. Cookies and analytics
We do not set tracking or advertising cookies and, at the time of writing, do not run analytics. If that changes, this policy and our cookies policy will be updated first.
7. Email
If you email us we keep the correspondence for as long as needed to answer you and improve the site. We do not add you to any list.
8. Children
The site is not directed at children under 13 and we knowingly collect no data from them.
9. Your rights
Because we hold no personal data about calculator use, there is nothing to access, correct or delete on our side. For correspondence, email us and we will delete it on request. Residents of the EEA, UK and other jurisdictions with data-protection laws have the rights those laws provide.
